Gaia - 2020
Gaia - 2020
A special wine from their highest parcel. Gaia is like a reverse of Le Claux: Syrah from the same parcel, except 30 years old, and 10% of their 70-year-old Grenache. A two week maceration, raised in concrete for a year, it's very velvety, beautiful tannins, heady aromatics, and a long, mineral line.

After deciding that studying city water waste management wasn’t for him, Antoine took over from his dad Pierre in 1998. Shortly joined by his wife Laurence they began making and bottling their own wine. Organic since the 1970’s Pierre had used to sell grapes his grapes to the local co-op. Vineyards are planted with Grenache and Syrah. Very intense vineyard work allows for early harvest, resulting in less-concentrated and lower-alcohol wines. They hand-harvest their 18 hectares of vines, don’t use synthetic yeasts, and don’t fine or filter.
