What’s Natural!? with Paris Barghchi
1pm - 3pm Saturday April 27
Asking the big questions! Paris explains:
”What is natural wine!? A question I have been asked so much over the last year and one I’d like to explore. We all have our own understanding of what consists as natural. The challenge is: do we know what is NOT natural? What are you allowed to add to your Earth, vines, wines in conventional wine. Are we aware what we are consuming? How fine is the line? How do producers navigate all the challenges of working with a natural product? How do drinkers make informed, empowered decisions? How do you avoid marketing myths and casual lies?
Most importantly why do we value natural wine? What is it that brings such energy and character to the glass and the experience? Why does natural wine sometimes get a bad rep?
We are going to cover it all! And I want you all to come with any and all the questions and thoughts you’ve been brewing!”
5 wines to taste, plus good chat!
Saturday Wine Workshops
Our Wine Workshops are an intimate and informal way for a small number of us to gather on a Saturday afternoon to look a little deeper at the wines that inspire us most, the history behind them, and why the world of natural wine has such significance for us.
The workshops are led by our good friend and wine educator Paris Barghchi.
Paris has a hospitality career that spans almost two decades from humble country pub to Michelin starred fine dining. However, it is the small independent caves and cafes celebrating wholesome produce and interesting, lovingly crafted beverages that inspires her. Drawn to wine by the stories, Paris is keenly pursuing her studies further, taking on vineyard work in the UK, and soon to be turning her hand at winemaking.
We can think of few better for you to be taking this journey into wine with!
