One grape, three ways.

Cabernet Franc in three beautifully varied expressions, from a new generation of Loire growers, using the quintessential red grape of the region. All perfect for the colder months.

Grappes Me 2021 - Clos Kixhaya (Beatriz Papamija & Étienne Le Blanc)

On the light red/rose spectrum, but with some proper structure. Incredibly juicy with baskets of red berries and bright acidity. Can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature, with each option a subtly different experience of the wine. Good company at a party and also on its own. 

Hand harvested from 25-30 year old vines. A 5 day maceration of whole bunches in concrete, spontaneous fermentation. Basket pressed back to concrete for 8 months. Zero sulphur.

Babiole 2020 - Autre Chose (Corentin Le Bolloch)

Dark fruited, a little gamey, and now grown up with a nice bit of bottle age. Soft tannins. A deep but fresh juice. 

Hand-harvested. A portion of the wine sees a 19 day whole-bunch maceration in fibreglass. Free-run juice from this maceration is combined in an old barrel with free-run juice from another cuvée (10 day maceration). An slow, overnight basket-press for the remainder, then into fibreglass for 8 months. Assembled and bottled late the following spring. Zero sulphur.

Manta 2020 AOC Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame- l’Austral (Laurent Troubat & Pauline Mourrain)

Cab Franc from one of the first vineyards to receive the appellation Saumur Le Puy-Notre-Dame. Farmed biodynamically for over 20 years. From a cooler vintage, with elegance and a rich concentration of red and dark fruit. Lovely florals. Fine tannins. Silky mouthfeel. This is all about a pure expression of the grape. 

50/50 mix of whole bunch and de-stemmed Cab Franc, layered in tank to create a ‘mille-feuille’. A delicate infusion for 15 days, then aged for 8 months in concrete eggs.
