Stocking Fillers
In many ways, isn’t the ideal stocking filler a bottle of wine? Up to you if you decide to decant the bottle into the stocking itself like a kind of soggy porron.
Here's three bottles we love at the moment that serve the dual-purpose of being delicious and also occupying 70% of a stocking’s real-estate. These are the natural and organic wines we like to drink best, low or zero sulphur, with a freshness and that keeps them revitalising around the table at Christmas!
La Ferme Des Sept Lunes - Lune Rousse 2019
From the hills of St-Joseph in the northern Rhone, this is bright-eyed, aromatic and fleshy Roussanne, brought to life with a taut line of refreshing acidity. A beautiful, elegant white that can handle the heavy dishes we balast ourselves with this time of year.
Domaine Balansa - Bel Soula 2019
Balanced, fresh and crunchy, with floral aromatics and delicate tannins, from the wind-battered garrigue Hautes-Corbieres. A lighter red well suited to brightening a long lunch.
Chateau Barouillet - Monbazar 2019
From the family that brought you the beloved Bergecrac (sadly still out of stock unfortunately) comes Monbazar! One of our favourite dessert wines, balancing the dried-apricot sweetness with bright acidity and freshness. Versatile, delicious, dangerously drinkable.
